Recent Tension
The Student Association (SA) E-board spoke with the entire General Assembly (GA) to address recent tension caused by members speaking out of turn. Members of the E-board said SA is an organization for the students and that any disruptions during GA mean delays in important legislations that could affect students.
Receiving Credit
SA members brought up the idea of giving students who participate in SA one credit. The idea was considered and was tabled for future meetings.
New Group Category on Campus
President Kevin Wysocki announced that he and the Comptroller have written statutes that will allow a new type of group to be formed on campus. The group will be known as an “Endorsement” group and will be similar to acknowledged groups but will be given less money. The idea of creating the Endorsement group came after Anthony Faraco, Grady Gorman and Brian O’Connor pitched the idea to create the Inter Fraternal Council, which many SA members felt would result in conglomerate groups.
Green Initiative Fund stalled
The “Green Initiative Fund” referendum vote was canceled last week. Chair of the Environmental Affairs Committee Adam Malchoff said they will not be rushing the draft of the fund through SA. Malchoff cited a similar situation at another school which resulted in a lawsuit by a group on campus. Malchoff thanked everyone who was involved the Green Initiative Fund. He added that he will pass the project on to members of the committee in an effort to get the project passed next semester.

- The SA Web site will be switched over from Outlook Express Mail to Google Mail.
- SA will be hosting a BBQ on May 2 at Point Gratiot. The day will allow students to witness what goes on in SA and will include games and food.
