New Endorsed groups statutes passed

The Student Association (SA) passed a number of statutes dealing with the creation of “Endorsed Groups.” Endorsed groups will become a fourth option for groups on campus after acknowledged, chartered and constituted groups. Endorsed groups will be given a budget of $150 a year and must hold one event a semester and hold representation in SA.

IFC finds a new home

Justice and Sigma Phi Epsilon President Anthony Faraco announced that the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) will be sponsored by Campus Life. This came after the Supreme Court voted to uphold a veto by SA President Kevin Wysocki to prevent the IFC from becoming an SA group.

New Semester, New VP

SA Vice President Katie Boyle announced she will not be returning as vice president in the fall due to graduation in May. Wysocki said he plans to nominate Budget and Appropriations member Mike Baker as Boyle's replacement. Wysocki said nothing will be officially announced until Baker is voted in and approved by the General Assembly and rules committee.

Allocations Update

Funds in SA's allocations have run out and no further requests for money from recognized groups, with the exception of Improv Collective, will be taken. Comptroller Brian Gusmano said allocations run out every semester and this is not uncommon. Gusmano said increased funds were requested this semester which caused allocations to run out. The only group that has not taken any money out of its allocated budget is Improv Collective. The group currently has $1,500 available in allocations and has three weeks to request funds.
