Finally getting back into the swing of things as the fall semester gets going...anyone feeling shop deprived yet?

If you have walked around Fredonia, you have probably noticed that there are not many places to go for some good shopping.

Well, you're wrong. For your convenience, I have scoped out a couple of spots where you can do some decent shopping, all within close proximity to campus.

Right in the D&F Plaza, just past the Chinese food restaurant and Rite Aid, is a store called Maurice's. This store particularly opens around smaller college campuses to cater to students and smaller communities.

Maurice's is a great store for any kind of shopping. They have party clothes, casual clothes and even professional clothes for any job interviews you might have. Maurice's also carries shoes including heels, boots, sneakers and flats.

"The great thing about us is that we only have one size run of everything," said Brittany Ippolito, a part-time manager at the store. "You'll never run into someone with the same outfit as you!"

Many of their items range from $6 to $44 with the exception of their "Silver Jean" line, which were seen in Seventeen Magazine. These jeans are higher priced.

Maurice's has constant sales and a new promotion every week. You can get coupons and even a credit card with them to start building up your credit.

"We're known for helping you,"  Ippolito said. "We want to make sure you walk out confident and liking what you bought."

Next door to Maurice's is a JC Penney. There you can find countless items including jewelry, formal wear, casual, sportswear and professional wear.

Lawrence Roland, a sales associate, told me they have a lot of back to school items such as sneakers, clothes and backpacks. JC Penney has a huge clearance sale up to 80 percent so it is easy to look around and pick out a few items to at least try.

Since they are one of the smaller branches, unfortunately they do not have any of the designer collaboration lines, such as "Olsenboyle," a line created by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. However, there may be some other interesting items to purchase.

Let's not forget the TJ Maxx that we have here! They are known for designer and brand named items sold cheap.

There are so many things to find in this big department store. They have everything from clothing to furniture and even some pretty cool designer sunglasses. TJ Maxx also has a superb collection of shoes!

Most items are offered at an affordable price, so you really do get quality designer things cheap. They also have constant sales, so always go check back.

While at times it may be hard to find what you are looking for, with the right amount of time and patience, I am certain that you will walk out with something that you will love.

Another place to check out is the Payless Shoes store located right next to TJ Maxx. If you ever need a pair of shoes to go out for those Sunny's nights, or just a pair of affordable shoes for every day, Payless is the place to go.

Payless is also a really inexpensive, as their name implies, way to get a shoe fix. The price is usually perfect and, not to mention, the shoes are almost always extremely cute. Look for the designer collaborations there, such as Christian Siriano, Alice + Olivia, Leila Rose and more.

One more surprisingly good place to shop is at Walmart. People don't just go to Walmart for food and toys anymore; they actually have a pretty decent selection of clothing.

Walmart carries the Miley Cyrus line which is quite intriguing and, not to mention, quite popular. There may be some of you thinking that it is gross going clothes shopping at Wal-Mart but they seriously do have a somewhat decent selection of clothing. Definitely one of the best I've seen in a Wal-Mart. We should consider ourselves lucky!

Now that you know a couple of places to go to, please feel free to fill up that little empty hole in your heart that was created from the deprivation of shopping.
